The Porsche 911 Carrera 3.2 was launched in August 1983 for the 1984 model year. Its origins can be traced back to the mid '60s when the first 911 was introduced as a replacement for the long-lasting Type 356.

The Carrera 3.2 evolved from the 911SC - at first glance there is little to distinguish it from its earlier cousin. On the outside things were a little better - a new integrated front spoiler with built-in fog lights and telephone dial wheels (although the traditional Fuch alloy wheels were available as an optional extra).

Mechanically there were major differences - the engine capacity was raised from 2933cc to a nominal 3.2 litre (3164cc to be exact). This capacity increase was simply achieved by using the cylinder bores of the 911SC and the 74.4mm-stroke crankshaft of the Turbo - the Turbo itself had a bore 2mm larger to give a new capacity of 3.3 litres. New forged piston, giving a higher compression ratio (10.3 to 1 in Europe), help raised power output to 231BHP – 207 BHP for North American delivered cars as well as for other markets requesting low emissions, like Germany.

The braking system was upgraded to cope with the extra power using ventilated discs - with a larger diameter and a thicker width and improved oil-fed chain tensioners were fitted to the engine. To improve oil cooling, a finned cooler replaced the serpentine lines in the front passenger fender well.

1986 - Improvements include a revised dashboard with larger air vents, 20mm lower seats, new sunvisors with covered vanity mirrors, a cabin-temperature sensor on the dashboard, and larger anti-roll bars and torsion-bar rear springs.

Our inspection of the car was detailed and thorough and the car drives extremely smooth, tight and straight, it has been driven and enjoyed for only 101,704 Kilometers.

This 1986 Porsche 911 Carrera 3.2 coupe is finished in Guards Red exterior over Black Leather interior. It was delivered new in June 1986 with a “first in service date” of June 26, 1986 at Performance Cars of St. Catharines Ontario, Canada.

It was purchased new by a local Doctor in June of 1986. In 1992 the car returned to Performance Cars as a possible trade in. From here the car appears to have been leased through a Burlington, Ontario leasing company to the 2nd owner. The second owner held the car until 1996 when it was sold to yet another local Niagara resident who owned the car until 2008.

AutoSport911 acquired the car from the 4th owner. The car has always been well maintained and the service/maintenance booklet shows complete service history since new. All keys are accounted for. Spare tire, jack, tools & pouch with tire inflator compressor come with the car.
